Default Newby!

Hi guys,

Just a quick intro to say hello. My name is Si and I live just outside Dorchester in Dorset, UK.
I work on old vw buses for a living but have had a long desire to own a jag!

I bought my first jag approx a year ago, a 2001 x-type 3.0 AWD , which is an awesome machine and I love owning it.
I have however also just purchased a 1999 XJR 4.0 V8 supercharged which is mega. Sadly I have bought it with a known heating issue which I have been reading through this forum for the last few days solid to try & sort, so hopefully I'll get that sorted soon with some of your help!

Hello,
That so often happens, you get one Jaguar and it gets lonely so you get another one to keep it company.

I'm sorry to read about the overheating problem though. Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the proper section where you can get help for that.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks very much :-)
Cars always seem to have that effect on me, I can never just have one!

Some great replies to my over heating issue already so hopefully I'll get that sorted soon.

Welcome to the forum Si,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I hope your XJR is only losing coolant and not suffering from any overheating damage.

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Cheers guys. I have thought about sticking in the 3.0l from the x-type, if only I could find someone with the right knowledge that could do it for me.
