Default XF 2016 sucks

Okay this is BS. The 2016 XF sucks - no performance line up ! Okay maybe that is harsh but I am trying to see where the performance meets styling in this XF second go. It has become more conservative and more audii looking?

I agree tail light is mixture of extra large Audi A5 and F-Type's slim LED in a weird looking. They could have made it better. But i admit the front is unique and well designed. About the performance still good better engine then before

I want a V8 version with the technology performance improvements. I want a coupe style XF, bigger than the F-type and more rear room than an XK and less than the version one XF. Is that a Maserati ?

It's pretty typical of Jaguar to not release every model option immediately.

When the 1st-gen XF was released there was no R model, it came later down the track.

And the F-Type, there was no F-Type R when it was first released.

And the XJ, there was no XJR for a few years, it came later on.

Give it a year & see what they have. There will be a new XFR and XFR-S (probably be called XF SVR), but they won't be released in the first round.

Let me use the Mustang as an example; when the 2015 came out did they release all of the variants at once? The XF, just like any car, will get variants as time passes.

Because the planned top model on launch does a 5.1 to 60 mph on the F Type S V6 SC drivetrain.

That's close to a second quicker than the same engine in the current XF.

How much quicker were you expecting the launch model to be?

Plus, Jaguar is conservative with performance numbers, I believe they quote the current AWD XF with a 0-60 time of 6.1 seconds; this XF-S will have a little more power, and should be lighter by about 200lbs or so according to initial reports.

I went online and built one yesterday. I loved a lot of the add-ons. I wish they had been available for my year.
Overall though the exterior and inerior are very bland. I am quite sure I wouldn't be buying one if I was looking for a new car now. It does give me a lot of hope hope for a future release though. The technology is certainly heading in the right direction, they just need to do a lot of work on the look of the vehicle. It is not a head turner, nor does it jump out visually as a high quality vehicle. Hopefully just some growing pains for a new platform.

I hope they make a really awesome XFR and XFR-s with a lot of head turning effects.. A good amount of HP to compete with the Germans and a active exhaust to boot. If Jag bails out on us, then I can see a Caddy CTS-V in my future..

I think you guys are a bit too quick with your judgments. I wasn't sure about it either first, but I love it after seeing it in person, sitting in it etc. The front end looks much nicer and the fact that it's square, gives a lot more presence.

Probably the same place I did, the New York Auto Show in April, and I agree on the in person aspect of it.

Default Better in person

I definitely agree, it looks a lot better in person and the refinement strikes you right when you get in. The Riva hoop looks perfect inside, big improvement to the interior. The tail lights actually look good in person, better proportion to the rear than on the XE in my opinion.

Some of the engineers at the NY show privately said they were really excited about the R version coming, and that the V8 is going to really blow out some incredible performance numbers. That coupled with the amazing steering everyone has witnessed in the XE should translate to a top class midsize performance car. I expect it will win comparisons between E63s, M5, and RS7 comparisons.

I have no issues with what the '16 XF looks like..sill bad-*** IMHO..

but what really gripes me is when Jag dropped the 5.0L for the packages other than the R or S versions..My 12 was the last and I'm thinking the last we'll ever see another V8-5.0L in the NA version..

Say what you want about the V6 or the 2.0T, if you like them fine...But I personally think it ain't the JAGUAR image I use to know.

I also like the new XF exterior design far more than the old one. I don't think it's a radical departure, but it looks more aggressive to me.

Wow, insightful, I would then buy the new whiney V6 XF jaguar to replace my NA V8 to get that kind of improvement - mmm let me think about that for a moment.

So, you're complaining, that at launch the R won't be out? There is no reason to believe that Jaguar will drop the 5.0L, what do you think they would use to compete against the likes of M and AMG?
