Dude New Zealand government shut down all the TV repeaters a year or more ago
There is an option if your a real geek and that's a toresrial top
Box but your car will need acm for sound in and aux vidio in , I think there's about
$1500 worth of modules to make it work now ! Stupid thig is all the old annolog
TV repeaters were working fine and freehold payed for buy our
Grand perants ! We have tight and greedy government !
As for a cheeper aux sound in than the acm check out veffremov's
Bluetooth d2b device it money well spent !! Just buy a cheep TV reciever on ebay
For your laptop if you need TV on the run thay are like $40

MrGreen, What is the model number off yours? The unit will most likely be in the boot area. Have a look for the numbers and also if it has aux inputs.
Question.... can you seen the TV in your GPS display unit? I know it wont be transmitting anything but you might get static.
Did you get any user manuals with the TV unit?
