Default My italian project

So on the first Friday of October 2013 i picked up this 1976 Alfa Romeo spider for 1 grand and well it was worth the money. The only problem was that around the same time i bought it my jag was taken apart to replace the belts and the alternator so little work was done to the alfa in that time frame (and even now little work has been done to it mother nature can be blamed for that) i do have some old pictures of it

wow looking back at those pictures i can believe how dirty that thing was when i got it

oh yeah it also came with a ton of extra parts

so far its been really nice its great mechanically and most of the rust is confined to a couple areas the biggest problem so far is that a lot of the interior is rotting away and its going to be hard sourcing the parts for it

but my dad came up with a brilliant solution for the door panels
we're going to use wood and either match up the wood on the steering wheel or on the shift knob

and here's a picture of my two beauties

Hey Switch,

That's great - super car, and a brave project.. I have an old Alfa Spider as well, sitting next to my cat. They make an awesome couple and complement each other well.

Enjoy your project; when the Spider is in top fettle nothing much beats it in terms of pure mechanical pleasure and perfect agile balance.

Have fun!
Lars

..oh, and by the way: You can find pretty much anything you need in terms of interior panels and other stuff at International Auto Parts in Virgina: Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia Parts since 1971 - International Auto Parts

Also check out Classic Alfa Romeo spare parts and accessories for more advanced stuff & inspiration!
