Thumbs up timing chains and tensioners

I have had upper and lower timeing chains and tensioners done on my wifes 2000 xj8 with only 89000 miles on it. I brought all the parts from Christophers foreign car parts in NJ.plus rented the tools from them. on opening the engine I was amazed at the build up of sludge from the previous owner useing cheap oil and most likely not changeing the oil. so after my mechanic had done the chains I had him drop the oil pan and clean everything he possibley could. total cost for all parts oil- filter gaskets new coolant spark plugs around $900 cost for labor belive it or not $500. the work was done by Lagunas tech auto in johnston RI. I had a price from our local jag dealer of $4000 to $5000 for the same job............
it pays to shop around. Manuel lugunas shop is a one man shop I would recomend him to anyone. he has worked on my xkr also
