And should anyone be curious, I have put out a photo album on the car:

I'll continue to add photos to the album as the crappy weather lifts and outside photos become possible.
The 2008 S-TYPE was a bit special - as the last of the series, Jaguar threw everything into its production, including the kitchen sink (to be found under the boot floor). I hope that the photos do the old girl justice....

There was a question about the extended warranty that I thought I should answer publicly. The warranty has a current turn-in cash value of $2740 should the car owner decide to cancel the warranty and pocket the cash this month. That cash value decreases by $72.11 per month during the 6-year life of the warranty. And no, I will not separate the car from the warranty to reduce the sales price of the car.

Price Drop to $15,995
Since the extended warranty seems to be something that not everyone wants(), I have re-priced the S-Type WITHOUT the warranty at $15,995. Also, a lot more photos have been added to the on-line photo album:

E-mail me if you would like PDFs with the car's full service history, as well as the car's detailed specs.

Bump...just replaced the original, seven (!) year old battery with a new, 6-year warrantied Interstate battery. That's the first ever "mechanical failure" experienced by the car. Who says that Jaguars are not reliable? The car is still looking for its new owner...the price is still $15,995.

Price still at $15,995
Another bump... Curiously, according to Edmunds.com (my benchmark), the True Market Value Private Party price on this S-TYPE has gone UP over the past month, from $16,321 to $16,540. The decrease due to depreciation has been more than compensated for by the increase in the low mileage adjustment. My price remains at $15,995.

That would really be a shame. It should go where it will be appreciated and you should be compensated for its care and specialness.
It is just months too late for me.

Yup - I hate the idea of trading-in the car, whereupon it gets "anonymized" as it goes through the dealer circuit, losing all its detailed history and provenance. I would much rather sell it to a real live Jaguar S-Type enthusiast, but those seem to be thin on the ground. Ultimately, the new car replacement goes onto the production line on Friday (finally!), and garage space must be available after it has crossed the Atlantic.

I have finally completed the on-line photo album in the above referenced link. Even if you are not in the market, you might be interested in wandering through the 84 photos to see what was unique about the final-year (and best!) S-TYPE.

Actually, I was being generic, all inclusive. An R is after all an S-Type too. So a 2008 STR is also the best. Jaguar always saves the best for last.

Final price drop to $14,800
OK, it's March 1st. That means it is time for One Last Bump with One Final Price Drop to $14,800. If that elicits nothing, then it is off to the humiliation of the great trade-in corral in the sky......
