2005 S-type

How do I remove the lens covering the reading/courtesy lights in the overhead console? I've run my fingernail all around the lens trying to feel a place to insert a screwdriver. Nothing is there. I can find nothing in the book regarding the replacement of bulbs in this component.

Hi Eric,
If your console is the same as mine, you have to be quite brutal to get it off. Firstly, at the opposite end to the lights there is a small drop down compartment, (gently push the silver trim up to release it) in there is a "torx screw" which I think needs removing; if it doesn't no big deal. Then and this is the brutal bit with a thin flat wooden spatular prise the console away from the roof lining. As far as I can remember it is held in with at least four spring clips, which are a fairly tight fit. It is the only way to change the bulbs as the plastic lens are integeral in the console.
