Default Leaking A/C low pressure port

I went to recharge the A/C on our '01 S-Type and found that the schrader valve on the low pressure port was leaking. Went to the local O'Reillys and bought the kit to replace the schrader valve and caps only to find that the Schrader valve in the S-Type was much larger than the kit. Live in a rural area and none of the local places have been any help.

Is this larger schrader valve unique and does anyone know where I can pick one up at online or which automotive places may have one?

Maybe check this out may be the right size but you would have to buy the whole kit.

Or depend on the style and how its made you might be able to replace the seal. I've never pulled one from an S type so not sure how the seats and seals are set up. Would you happen to have a pic. If its a standard O-ring seal you can buy silicon o-rings if you can measure it or there are A/C o-ring kits that you could try.

What part # did they give you? Rockauto has part#26783 that its showing fits the 2001 S type with a 4.0. If yours is different may want to try them. Its a System valve core and Cap Kit.

Thank you so much.

The one in the Jag has a much bigger stem in the middle and is long than others I have seen. The removal tool that came with the kit was not even big enough to slide over the stem. Was hoping I could of just tightened it or done like you said and put new o-rings on it but my valve stem removers were all too small.

Got any refrigeration repair shops around? Try there.
