Could anyone tell me if it is easy to change the Mass air flow sensors?
2005 s type diesel.
Or if it is difficult, approx Labour time for a garage to do it
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about the diesel version but on petrol brothers the MAF Sensor is the easiest thing swap out. Should be located right after the air box on the intake tube.

Just FYI, the petrol version S Types like the Densi OEM sensors. Do not go cheap only leads to problems.

Good luck and let us you know how you make out.

You can pay a garage £50 to replace the MAP sensor, or do it yourself.

Refer to the Workshop Manual for the location and procedure. If you don't have the Workshop Manual, you can purchase one here:

I believe the 2.7 turbo diesel has only a manifold absolute pressure sensor. It's been awhile since I've looked at a diesel S-Type.

It's got two, yes TWO, MAFs - weirdly.

Can't see both or even one being faulty and no codes, though.

Thank you. The fault codes throw up as being a faulty MAF, doesn't indicate which one however.
i have ordered one and will try it on both, to try and pick out the faulty one.
Couldn't do a regeneration on the DPF as there is a fault on the MAF.......grrrrr

There are unique codes per MAF so something odd going on.

They look not to be using the Jaguar OBD tool.

Probably that's MAF A.

Replaced MAF sensor, fault still remains. Will drive fine for 3-4 miles, then yellow and red light, restricted performance. Garage attempted to do a regeneration, however the car kept going into limp mode. Plugged another diagnostic reader in, it read there was 3.2g of soot, doesn't sound a lot, also the read out said that there hadn't been any failed regen attempts. The pressure hoses for the DPF to the regulator had a split, repaired that, problem still there.
i am at a loss as what to do next.
