Default Nitrous powered 2003 STR

So I've been on a 150 shot with over 40 bottles in her and she LOVES it...we are talking spinning on 60mph rolls. My question is do you guys think our str motors can handle a 200 shot on stock timing....I ask because people have ran 200 on stock timing on chargers and magnums.....I beat crotchrockets as is...just looking for an extra edge...what do you guys think about the design of our block....the 03 setup

You already use quite a big shot. The block is strong and you have forged Mahle pistons and forged rods. What's your AFR when nitrous on and do you use some kind of nitrous controller?

Hey MeanKitty, good for you using the giggle juice! I think you caught the STR traditionalists (purists) with their pants down on this thread! I personally love it.

Although we own a "granny" 3.0, I read the STR threads. Once I had the audacity to mention giggle juice and boy did they go off. All I know, is if we owned an STR we would be laughing all the way to the finish line!

Do not switch on 200hp shot too early or you are very slow

I would put ceramic coating to the pistons and combustion chambers as well as stronger piston rings if use 200hp shot or even more. NOS contoller and shots in two stages ( 100 + 100 ). Just my $0.02.

Default Wow!

As far as I know, you've already broken new ground with a 150 shot. I have no advice, just questions and comments.

Please post:
Pics of the installation. Cooler plugs? Is nitrous injected before or after boost?
Update…Appears to be installed post supercharger
Pics of your time slips showing 1/4 mile ETs and trap speeds?
Pics of dyno sheets or Clips of dyno runs with Air Fuel ratio.

I'm wrong…I did not believe the transmission would hold the crazy torque you are likely seeing at the wheels. You must be around 450-490 foot pounds.

Sorry have no experience with NOS, let alone all the different systems around (wet/dry, controller types).

The engine itself is very strong, at least thats what I have seen so far with major mods.

Where do you spray? Pending on being it before or after the IAT2 sensor, it could be either safe or start to be unsafe. Iirc cold (so low IAT2 temps) the ignition timing is about 21 degrees, the hotter the charger to more retard, so spraying after you have more security, doing it before and the IAT2 becomes cooler and you will run possibly to advanced.

The only way to find out is to continue now with a 200 shot ;-)

One thing to remember though, I would guess that a weak spot would actually also be the gearbox. Even though it can handle lots of torque, it’s during the shifting that you could create issues.

Normally the TCM will ask the engine for torque reduction, and as the ECU doesn’t take the extra 200 into account, there is much more stress on the clutches.

So if you have a system that takes shifting into account, it will reduce again the extra risks.

Just my 0.02 euros.

Great video. You definitely need DR's at least at the track if you're going to spray. Here's my old Crossfire on a 125 shot. Definitley would have done a half track burnout if not for tires. Sorry it's not a Jaguar, but I don't own one yet. If I end up with the STR, I'll definitely be tempted to run nitrous, since I have a wet kit in the garage.

Unless I misread your FB page, to see any of your plcs, I'd need to become your FB friend. Pls post some of your pictures and videos here so we all do not need to "friend" you on FB. Thanks :-)
