My windshield washer stopped working about a month ago on my 2005 S-Type V8. Initially I thought I just ran out of fluid, but I bought some today and it topped off immediately.
I hear the washer motor whirring when I press the washer button, but no water comes out. I don't see any leaks, so it doesn't appear to be a broken hose.
Any ideas? By car fixing skills are pretty basic, but this can't be too complicated.

I know some of you may find this hard to beleive BUT we have owned this Jag for 12 years and never used the windshield washer!.
So I can only blame us for not changing the fluid in the bottle once a year because of the crud that is built uo around the sensor.
When the message appeared I check the bottle nd topped it off but did not cure the problem. I then drained and refilled with a solution of vinega and water and drove it for a day or two, drained it and re filled it, still not working!
I then added some Simple Green and water for a few days same outcome!
I think after 12 years it is going to need more than one douching of polident so maybe something stronger.
I did attempt to remove the bottle but it looked like a PITA, so we just "push the button" and clear the code!
I will report back after the Polident treatment !!!
