2007 S-type Left Rear Window Regulator
I apologize in advance if this info is already somewhere on the forum. I have utilized the search function for about 30 minutes and have not come up with a definitive answer.
Is there a year cut off / breakdown for replacement rear window regulators for the s-type?
We have a 2007 and need to replace the unit in our car. I have found ones listed pre-2005 and am curious if they will fit. The pics of these parts look to be the same as the one I removed.
Thank you, Greg

Greg, welcome to the forum.
Just purchase the correct part for your MY (model year). You can dick around and save a couple of bucks but really to save headaches in the long run purchase parts per your VIN.
Our forum sponsors such as SNG Barrat will provide you with the correct part at a terrific price.
This month they are providing free shipping!

Thank you both. I have seen the thread regarding the removal process - very helpful in getting the regulator out. That part of the process has actually been easier than finding the replacement parts! Many online sellers don't seem to know what they have.
As to using the VIN for parts ordering that is a great idea. My experience is mostly with older classic cars where the VIN is not all that specific for parts ordering. Hard to get into the mindset with newer cars.
The replacement part is on its way.

Using the last 6 characters of the VIN is crucial to getting the correct parts for these cars, as Jaguar made several revisions to the S-Type between 1999-2008.
So, order virtually any part (even misc parts like wiper blades) from a Jag dealer Parts Dept and they'll ask you for the VIN. It's the only sure way to get the right parts for your car whether shopping in person or online, from a dealership or from aftermarket retailer; supplying just the MY of the car may not get you the correct parts. Good luck!
