Angry Fob not working / Car battery suggestions

Both my fobs have stopped working today.

I dont think its the fobs as both had new battries a month ago and have been working.

Over the last month or so the range of the fob has been getting less and less (hence the battary change, but it made no difference).

I can use the key in the drivers door and lock and unlock all doors from there, but in the car the inside drivers door lock only unlocks and locks the drivers door. It used to do all doors.

The boot does not unlock at all. unless i use the button in the car or the key.

Sorry if this has been covered before but i could not find a post with the exact same problem.

Any ideas ?

What is the age and condition of your car's battery? That would be the usual suspect....

The interior of your fobs could also benefit from a good cleaning with some Q-Tips or cotton swabs and a bit of rubbing alcohol. Just be careful with the circuit board....

I thought that too, i had bore wash a couple of weeks ago and flattened it cranking it, charged it up and cranked and cranked until i got compression and car started, must have cranked it for 15 seconds at a time more than 20 times, and seems to have been ok since.

You know how these cars devour battery power. You may have pushed your current battery over the edge with your starting woes. You may want to consider charging it if not replacing it....

The "hell" the battery went recently went thru, I strongly suggest replacing it.

I'll charge it and also connect a booster/starter to it and see if the fob works then.

If it does i'll replace the battary.

What should the voltage of the battary be ? cos when i was trying to connect an elm327 to my car the voltage was 11.2v not running and 13.2v a tickover.

Cheap fix

I was going to suggest trying them whilst the battery's on charge attached to the car.

I have the size as 353x175x190 (and of course vented). Halfords aren't cheap. See if you can find a Varta seller if you do buy one.
