Default Engine Light - P1647 code

Hello

Help needed please....

Had the light pop up and took the car to Advanced Auto for a reading.

P1647 02 sensor code

Which would make sense as my MPG has been crappy IMO. But I'm going to go ahead and test everything to verify if I can. I found this site for reference:
Automotive Circuit Testing - Help With Check Engine Light Diagnosis

I know there are plenty of threads on this topic that I've looked up, but I had some other questions...

1. Can someone point me to a USB ELM device on eBay that will work with the Stype? Ive emailed a couple of eBay vendors and both have come back with non compatibility.

2. The guy at the Advanced suggested a Bosch sensor that was less expensive than an OEM one should I need to change it out - he stated it works exactly like the OEM.... Thoughts?

Thanks!

Seems to me that ALL the elm327 tools will be fine but the sellers likely never heard of the S-Type / simply don't know.

That circuit testing site seems on a quick look to mention using a test light. In general, with modern cars - don't.
(If you understand why I say that, then do use one when you're sure it'll be OK.)

Thanks! I ordered the sensor from Amazon.

I had the lady at Advanced auto first insist I needed 234-4798 not this one, so when I googled I see she was insisting it was the rear one, so I just went the Amazon route, cheaper and just a day or two more wait. Plus she quoted me the wrong price initially at $92.98 locally, but when I showed up to buy the price was $187.09 !!!

Napa guy said they didn't carry this but that the Bosch 15626 was exactly the same at $109, but 5 days wait. I chose to trust the experts here rather than risk getting a part that isn't compatible or user friendly.

THANKS again!
