Default Gearbox fault light on

Hi, my engine light came on with Gearbox fault light on . I had it put on computer and knock sensor came back code P025 could it really be this easy would the knock sensor cause this? I know it's two but I don't know which knock sensor it is any advice or experience with this. 2000 jaguar s-type 4.0

That's not a valid code but if the one you got is for the sensor you could try changing it.

Be sure to change the timing chain tensioners etc if not yet done.

Yeh I miss typed the code is P0325 knock sensor .do you know how much I can be looking at for service replacing both knock sensors?

Your not listening??

Your problem as was posted above is the condition of the timing tensioners. Your knock sensors are very minor compared to this.

Have the tensioners been changed on your engine? All 4 of them plus the chains and the rails. It's a big job but you can DIY and we have instructions on this forum with great pictures. We also have some very talented shade tree guys who have done this themselves and will be a massive help to you if you take on the repair.

You'll need a specialized scanner to read the gearbox code. You may have P0325, but that isn't causing a gearbox fault.
