Default Foldin Mirrors

6. try the factory-supplied jack and tire iron (correct name?) as if changing a wheel and think what you'll do if you get a flat tire
(6b. change the lug nuts)
My X type has fold in door mirrors, I assumed my 2006 S type sport would have too but nothing happens when I operate the controls, how can I check if this car should have them?

Either ask a dealer for build info or try FordEtis home page with your VIN

That would be a nice surprise for me should I suddenly find I have powered folding mirrors! I was very surprised to find it did not have them after have an X Type that did have.
Does anybody know if you can retro fit power folding mirrors to a 2006 S Type 2.7 Sport?

Just re-read this sticky, cool.
Printed out some of the stuff and went out to the workshop to try them. At this time of night! Had to.
This is on a 2002 registered S Type 4.0L.
I don't have powered mirrors, bummer.
All doors unlock on one press of the button
Global opening works off the fob, but not global closing.
However it will global close if I use the key in the door and hold it in the lock position.
Can't get the cup holder to pop out, but I'm not so fussed about that, plenty of storage in this car.

Now then, how to program the fob for global closing.................
I'm sure someone has cracked it somewhere without going to the *******s by now?????

If it can go one way, then it can go the other, it's just a matter of finding the solution.

Been out and tested my autowindows on my 2003 2.5V6 SE+ this afternoon. Mine lower and the sunroof opens when the unlock is pressed for more than 2 secs and all close when the lock is pressed for more than 2 seconds. Happy with this result

This thread is great. I recently picked up a 2002 S Type for a cheap deal from a guy my husband works with. There is a terrible grinding sound from the rear end (why he parked it and sold it cheap). I am betting that we can change out the bearing and probably knuckles on the rear end and have a great car. It doesnt have a key fob, but appears it was probably keyless entry to start. I may just have to travel 2 hours to the nearest dealer and have one programmed if it all works out. Thanks for all the great information on this forum!

Sorry I know this is an old thread but I wanted to answer the question about the ‘06 windows up issue. Mine go down but not up with the fob. I just have to hit close on each when I get in the car. Living in Arizona this is an awesome feature! Great stuff! Thanks all!

It will work for closing but needs to be programmed by the dealer or someone with the dealer type equipment.

HI All, Lots of cool tips here. I was reading on another post about closing all windows and sunroof with the door key. Someone mentioned that they will unlock also. I tried it on my 2007 S-type and Voila it works. Both directions for mine. To lock doors and close all windows and sunroof turn the key to lock and hold it. The doors lock while the windows and sunroof close. You have to hold the key in the lock position until everything is where you want it. If you release the key, everything stops where it is, but doors are locked. Unlock is the same thing, turn key to unlock and hold until windows and sunroof are open to the point you want. Doors are unlocked. Hope this is new info in this thread.

Default Another for hints and tips.....

My 2006 S type has 2 memory settings. I use setting 2 to have my side mirrors point down to the kerb. Adjust mirrors to avoid kerbing and save in memory 2 so when parking up or maneuvering just slip shifter into park
and select memory 2 and the mirrors will point down. ............................................IP

M/Y 2000 and my car has both global open and close. Not sure what you're talking about when you say 2002.5 onward when my 2000 has it.

I'm talking about global open and close with the fob, not putting the key in the door.

Welcome to the forum timmyturbo, please post an intro in the new members section.
You'll get a better response if you post your problem in the S Type tech section.
