and i guess the car timed out so the trunk release switch on the dash or the button doesnt work. Or do you have the valet button in the glove box depreased so the trunk release buttons dont work..other than tht buy a duplicate key at the Jag dealer, you dont need it programmed so you can use it to get in the trunk. But dont get a valet ket, you need a black master key, valet keys have one less key cut so they wont open the glove box or trunk

This is a brute force approach, but try to pry down one of your back seats. This will most likely break the latch holding it upright. Otherwise, you'll have to go to your jag dealer and have a new key made. You will need your VIN and registration to prove you are the rightful owner. Either way, figure on at least $100 to get your key.

keys are about $50 if you dont program, and we have a bucket of miscuts that sometimes dependin on the key code youget luckyand find 1 that needs deeper cut

im sure there must be away of re-energizing the trunk button
it might be worth trying to pop a small screwdriver tip into the ignition this will bring the electic seats/radio on line and maybe the trunk lock n petrol cap worth a go i guess nothing to loose

Which unlock button? They have the doors already open. What are you saying to do with the antenna, window and gasket???

Really? You get a lot of people who do that in S-Types?

Default Did it today & figured out how to get them out!

Okay so embarrassingly enough my first time locking my keys in the trunk was today while putting the golf clubs in the car. I was locked out of the entire car, not just the trunk. So not knowing what to do I started thinking and this is what I came up with.

1. Start by removing the trim piece on the trunk lid, it takes some force, but its just held on by plastic clips.
2. Pull the license plat bulb connectors through the holes.
3. There will be two large rectangular holes on either side under the trim piece. Shine a bright flashlight through the hole on the passenger side of the car toward the front of the car.
4. Now in the drivers side look into the hole and you should see a few colored wires and a steel braided cable.
5. That cable is for the emergency trunk release.
6. If you feed a coat hanger with a small hook on the end through that hole and pull on the cable, it will pop your trunk..

I had it done and back together in 10 minutes.. Trust me, I surprised myself.

**I think I'm going to remove this post in about a week just to protect us Jaguar owners from everyone else out there, so copy and paste before its gone.**

Eric, great idea, I have one question though. Step #3, you carry a "bright flashlight" in your golf bag??? Night golfing?????
