Bluetooth 2003 Retrofit
Hello ALL,
When I purchased my 2003 S-Type R, I was assured that I would be able to get the Retrofit Bluetooth integrated with my car/navigation system. Now I am told that even though my car is a 2003, the VIN number is below the minimum required. Is there a hardware or software difference on my model compared to another 2003? I am very dissapointed. Can nyone shed some insite?
Thanks
Ralf

RE: Bluetooth 2003 Retrofit
Hi Guys,
I got a call from the dealer today with many apologies. I was happy with the fact that they took the time to respond to me. They did the research for me and pointed me to the Motorola IHF1000 Car Kit. It integrates into the car, sort of. They can't integrate it into the Stereo because of the Fiber Optics. If anyone has any ideas on the this with the Alpine System I would appreciate it. I get it installed next Saturday.

RE: Bluetooth 2003 Retrofit
If you already have the factory phone set up and still have your factory phone still active. I would leave the system as it is and buy another phone to carry around with you. I know thats what I have done in the past with my other cars that have the factory phones in them. I like haveing the handsfree set up and I love my Motorola phone. I just signed on for 3 years so they couldnt cancel my phone when everything has to be GPS based systems. I have another phone I use when Im not in the car. Keep what you have and don't play with fire.
