Default Would 245/45/18 tires fit ok on 2005 STR?

Looking to get winter tires in size 245/45/18 on all 4 corners. Has anyone mounted this size before?

245's all around will work on the OEM staggered rims. I have done so for the past two winters, and have had very few issues (aside from snow deeper than 6"). If the snow is deeper than 6", you will get stuck, even with snow tires, unless there is a path to follow.

The only side effect I am now noticing, is that the tread in the center of the rear tires is wearing faster than the fronts, as a result of the stretching and my insistence on 40 psi for fuel economy. I just mounted them again this past weekend in anticipation of falling temps, and have backed the psi down to 35 in the rears. Hopefully that helps the wear and gives some better traction. I also bought a "beater" so the Jag doesn't have to be exposed to the elements as often as it used to

Here is a link to a similar thread with pictures of my rims. If you look closely, you can see the stretching in the rears (Post #30): Link

Thanks for your response. In terms of series of tire, were you using 40 series or 45 series? I was going to go 45 series but wasn't sure if they would fit ok.

I went with a profile of 40 to keep it close to stock. The front is spot on, and the rear is only off ever so slightly from stock 35 (the stretching effectively changes the profile to some degree, from 40 to somewhere between 35 and 40).

Just watch the psi (kpa in Canada?) setting so as to not over inflate and cause uneven wear.
