Random chimes from the dash of my new to me 2003 S-type
Okay,
Picked up a 2003 S-type 3.0 a couple weeks ago to go with our X-type.
Got the car from the dealer auction, and went over it top to bottom.
So far it's needed:
New coolant recovery tank - leaking at nipple.
New front brake pads - Did Friction Master ceramics, impressed with additional stopping power, they squeak a bit in low speed crawling situations. Surprised by the amount of brake dust they produce.
Replaced Leaper and Shift know stolen at the auction.
Now I've noticed that sometimes the car just chimes from the dash, in motion for NO apparent reason, no warning lights (finally cleared the engine coolant low one, it did come back the day after replacing the tank, but would be intermittent). And it's not a seatbelt chime either. Any ideas??? Could it be that the coolant warning was going off but not staying on long enough to illuminate the dash? or am I just going nuts?
George
