Post S-Type Fuel Pump replacement for $10 with DIY video

My 2003 S-Type 3.0 V6 stalled and left me stranded a few weeks ago. Found blown fuse F47 pointing at a fuel pump going south. All online parts sites list fuel pumps and ridiculous prices ($500-$800) so I started to dig and found a way to replace the fuel pump for $10 out the door! New $10 fuel pump looks and feels just like the original. This definitely works on 2003-2005 model years but most likely the actual electric fuel pump is the same on all years 1999-2008 .

Been running for a week, no problems, no stalling, no blown fuse!

I made a short video with DIY instructions. Also explains what part to buy.

Search for fuel pump E2226 on ebay and sort by price. I bought the silver pump. Not sure if the black is the same, pictures were unclear but the silver one works great. Paid $9.97.

Anybody try this on a 4.0 L V8 2001 S type? What were the results? Did it fit...?

ULTRAP 13.Not long ago I posted a Spectra Pump 2080M($138 Amazon) that I used on my 2003 Stype 3.0l.You can read my thread ,I was bragging about having saved hundreds of dollars and then I saw your post and video(couple of weeks too late, sadly ) and I could have reused the the old Jaguar Pump assy(sturdier than the Spectra) with your new E2226 pump motor.****!Luckly I did not trow away the original old pump .I will buy this E-226 and install it on the original Jag Pump .Just in case. Never underestimate American Ingenuity! Thanks from a grateful Yankee.

Good to hear my post/video is saving fellow Jag owners money! Quick update: I've put about 1,500 miles on the new $10 fuel pump so far, no problems whatsoever.

@Dionne, no guarantees on a 2001 4.0 but my guess is it's the same based on part images I found online. If you try it let us know!

Thanks for the advice.
I just found one on Amazon UK for £10.99 with free delivery.
Much cheaper than equivalents on eBay too!
