Default Steering wheel leather colour code

Good morning,

The color of my steering wheel is far from perfect, i’m trying to repaint it. I know that the leather colour code of my car is ADX, but Can anybody tell me which is the colour code of the stering wheel? My car is a 2003 Stype 3.0 Executive. It's the same colour as in the photo attached

Many thanks,

I have same steering wheel color and wear. I am planning on repainting mine too and had same question! I have read "oatmeal" is color, but am not sure. Paint code is probably just exterior color. I wonder if VIN would contain the other color info.?

Have you found a paint source? Thanks to all!

Dear quantico,

I think that the correct trim code is Sable AEK, but I'm not 100% sure. I hope somebody tells us!

Regards

That is interesting because my STR has zero steering wheel wear after 10 years of use.

It's black and that would explain some of it but I am very impressed with how the interior materials have held up on my 2005 STR.

I don't know if the STR wheel is completely covered in leather because it has some kind of pattern on it in some area's. Sorta like CF but not exactly.

The only leather "fade" is on my black airbag assembly. Would the color palette be different from ST to ST-R? I doubt it. I saw a listing on EBay for the dye kit....but I'll do my homework first. Less risk with black, compared to other colors to match up.

Not sure but in the STR Jaguar calls black "Warm Charcoal". Maybe look at your year car for interior colors.

I bet they are they same color.

Great...."warm charcoal" is at the other end of the alphabet from "black." I wouldn't have guessed.

Just ask any dealer or jag direct for your car info - has far more than just trims...

I did want to mention that the first picture you posted is a real quality photo. I can see every little detail in the interior.

I also want to do a repaint Im going AEK Sable, for the dash /steering wheel upper bits and Oatmeal AGD which is a much lighter grey colour for the seats .my plate says oatmeal for interior but not the dash /steering wheel but most jaguars go with Sable for these bits.. eBay Vinyl paint plenty of jaguar supplies ...ALL IN ONE JAGUAR Leather Repair Paint (large) to dye and restore leather......

I repainted some years ago... And it was a disaster, the leather paint doesn't resist the usage day after day. I've ended upholstering the steering wheel. Leather color is similar (not the same) but it is far better than repainting. Regards

Having looked around the internet for Recoloring balm ,it seems to be limited to colours ,which is Ok if you want to recolour say for example Jaguar Oatmeal leather with a colour balm..Then you get Greyish as an option...However if you need to re colour the leather seats /steering wheel the factory colour you might /need to use the Leather re painting colours which are factory matched...As far as I can see if Im wrong please advised as to the link ..
