Default Timing Chain and Tensioner Kit

Is this kit the new tensioners or the old? I don't know how to tell the difference. This is a CNS TK10560 product. Anyone know how to tell?

Looks good! You have the metal body tensioners. Remember that you still need plastic for the part that rides against the chain.

Are you going to do it your self?
We have some guys that have and they will be a great help if you run into problems.

This kit is $295. I am not going to do anything right now, but I might just stock the kit and gaskets if I need them. The most recent quote I got was $1600 labor and $700 parts. I am going to study this more, but at 50,000 miles, the chains are fine and I think you can replace the 8 tensioner parts without any trouble if you can reach everything. There are only 14 bolts for all the tensioner parts. If you don't move the chains or turn the engine crank, it should work. All it looks like is slide one out and one in at a time and its done. More study to come.
