Default Tps code.

Ok here is my issue. My 04 STR went into limp mood a few times. Turn it off for about 5 mins cleared it. Then about 5 hours later it happen once more and it would not clear. It had the common 3 errors displayed.

Park brake fault
Engine system fault
Dcs not available
P0121

So reading over the forms I decided to replace the tps sensor. I order the 5 star bits and tps sensor. When I replace it I now get a p0222 code (tps circuit b low). Car still in limp mood. Do anyone have any insight on this issues?

Also the connector on the throttle motor side just came apart so replace it with connector. Making sure the wires where correct. It only two wires. The reddish orange one is closest to the fire wall.

Do need to replace the complete throttle body.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Did you first clear all codes and then see what came back?

Yes I did. As I only had two. And with the new tps only the p0222 would come back.

I found a good deal on a used throttle body and all is well and mean all. I was having the hesitation issue at 2000 rpms now that is gone. Also checked the fuel trim levels with my scanner and all is well there also, as was having an issues with a MAF or vacuum leak code causing the restricted performance error and when checked the fuel trim levels at 2500 rpms they would claim, not any more. Throttle response is much better now. I am a very happy camper.

Did you get the replacement tps from Jag? Or did you use the denso tps and swapped the harness pins to match the denso supply and wiper outputs?
My jag dealer sells the entire throttle body and not the individual sensors. I ask because my 03 str is on a 5th one.

Have you checked in the tps connector for water ,
you might be surprised wot you may find , as there was a
Tsb and a patch for this issue ! It struck my str down a year ago
With the same symptoms as yours ! Had burned a pin from arcing in the wet plug
The previous owner had two new throttle body replacements performed buy the jag agent
Due to the persisting issues , and although it fixed it , it was short lived as a few months later it would reappear !
This wore thin with the last owner and I bought the car off him in limp mode!
Lucky I noticed water on the plug the first time I un plugged it !
I fixed it by silicon ing the the loom around edge of the plug , rather than patching the scuttle Panal screw witch leaks water from directly above !
Still could be the sensor but well worth a look before purchasing bits ,

I have been filling all the connectors with dielectric grease as well as siliconing around the tps it self to prevent water intrution.
