Default UK South East Annual Convoy & Meet Event 28th May 2017

Welcome to the thread for our SIXTH Convoy & Meet event!!

Due to the huge success of our JaguarForums.com Convoy & Meet event we have a few changes for our 2017 event.

We are moving to a new home at Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking.

We now have the capacity to handle up to 400 Jaguars

Our convoy component will now head North from the start point through some gorgeous scenery and country roads

There will be some change in sponsors related to the change in location bringing some new contacts in for you to meet

I will be in contact with everyone who has prebooked for our event, to check on what Jaguar they think they will likely be bringing and how many people will be in it - so please, if you have prebooked keep an eye out for a text or email from me. If you don't hear from me inside the next week or so please drop me a pm here, or email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk to guarantee inclusion.

Currently I have 5 sponsors, from our 2016 event, who have agreed terms on what they are happy to do for us and have another 4 who I am still in negotiations with that have agreed to get involved but have not yet confirmed their level of support.

Additionally I have a number of other companies I am also trying to bring on board that missed our 2016 event for one reason or another :-)

Please keep an eye on this thread - it will be updated as I go (as always) with the latest info on how our 2017 event is shaping up.

If you have not been to one of our events before - you have missed alot :-) Please, please check out these links to previous events, and sign up for this event by pm, email, or posting on this thread..

Five sponsors already. And there was I thinking you'd been taking a break after the last Brighton meet!

Had a look at Denbies Wine Estate website and it looks like a good venue.

This event will be taking place on Sunday 28th May 2017 - with the main venue being Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! There will then be a convoy through country roads, and some gorgeous scenery from Pease Pottage to Denbies Wine Estate. It will be the first time these roads will have ever seen this number of Jaguars passing through, and will set the mood for our arrival at Denbies, where we will have a grassed, enclosed area set aside exclusively for us.

As you know we like to try to work with our sponsors to keep your Jaguar costs low... we are pleased to say we have arranged the following discount codes (so far) for event attendees, which will be active from now until our event:

Prestige Car Care is offering all attendees a 10% discount on their entire product range which includes some superb car cleaning products - to take advantage of this great offer go to Featured Products - Prestige Car Care Shop and use the checkout code 'jags' to get your event attendee discount!

Additionally, following on from last year, we have the FREE service for attendees - the 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service :-) If you drop me a line with your name & mobile number before the day we will ensure that you get a text just before any event on the day, such as banner signing, prize draws, winners of judged contests etc.. just drop a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk if you would like to guarantee you miss nothing on the day..

If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in, noting you can join just the main event, or the event and convoy. Considering whether to sign up for this or not? And so far in advance?

Well, we already have seven official sponsors, & two advertisers, and we even have our event accomodation partner about to finalise with us too.

We also have a number of people who were happy to presign to attend this event before the thread even hit the forums.

We have a firm and fixed booking with Denbies Wine Estate, which is one of the largest Wine Estates in our area with superb facilities, and surroundings for us and comes highly recommended by everyone I have spoken to that has been there.

Our event has grown year on year, and with the last event having 100 Jaguars attending, we are planning on 200 or so Jaguars for this 2017 event!

Our sponsors believe in our event, as do the people who presigned for this event - so go on, why not join them? Set a date in your diary for 28th May 2017, sign up so you are guaranteed a slot, and join us for a great Jaguar day, at a fantastic location, great company, great prizes and a chance at the prestigeous 'JaguarForums.com Best Turned Out Jaguar' award.

It is even easy and free to sign up for - just pop a post on one of our forum threads, facebook, or even a tweet to us, with your Jaguar model, year and how many people will be travelling and you will be signed up!

You can join everyone that's following our event on our forum threads, our facebook account www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK, or via our Twitter account @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet .. and don't forget if you have any questions you can also email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk

Further to our booking with Denbies Wine Estates, I asked them if they could supply a few words so we know a little about the location, facilities, and history of their estate prior to our event and they were kind enough to supply the following:

The Denbies Estate, based in Dorking, Surrey, has been family owned and run since 1984. Denbies vineyard was planted in 1986, and since then has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK. Denbies core business is agriculture and we are pleased to be able to offer visitors an insight into wine production in the UK. Denbies wine now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first ever gold for an English rose wine and most recently an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine. We are honoured over the years to have welcomed several members of the Royal family to the estate, completing the historical connections which date back to Prince Albert in 1851. The Surrey Hills is a beautiful area to live in and while you are visiting do take advantage of the surrounding areas, including 7 miles of public footpath which trail throughout the vineyard. Thank you for visiting Denbies Wine Estate. If you have any questions during your visit, our staff will be very happy to assist you in any matter. We very much hope that you will enjoy your visit.

Visitors are able to take advantage of the following activities;

- Outdoor vineyard tours of the estate*
- Indoor winery tours & tastings in the cellar*
- Denbies of Dorking gift shop
- Village Greens farmshop
- Picture Gallery
- Conservatory Restaurant
- Gallery Restaurant

*charges apply

To be honest, I am very much looking forward to our first event there.. a fantastic venue, very well matched to our Jaguars :-)

Had to drop some gear off in Reigate, this morning, on the way back I stayed on the A24, and dropped into Denbies.

It is a lovely picturesque vineyard, even on a grey overcast day, truly a fitting venue for our Jaguar meet.

Well done to Steve for finding this place.

Just to let you know I am currently chasing Harwoods to find out which branch can supply dealership cover for us at our new venue - Denbies, and I have kicked off advertising our move to companies in the Dorking area to make them aware we are coming, and to prime them for any deals we might be able to organise nearer the time :-) Plus I am still working my way round existing and potential sponsors for us.

Additionally I am still looking to sort a breakfast deal somewhere for us - more info on that to come as soon as I have it :-)

I will be on family holidays the 2nd week in August, & also for the week starting 29th of August so am trying to get a few more things on my hotlist for our event, nailed down so I can relax in August knowing I have got more of the basics in place.

If you want to book yourself and your Jaguar in for this event please just pop a post up on here, or pm me, or email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk with your car details, and how many will likely be in the car - and I will get you added in for what promises to be our biggest and best event to-date.

Equally if you are looking for a great sponsorship opportunity with a steadily growing grassroots Jaguar event please drop us a tweet @JFBrightonMeets, email at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, or pm at www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK

Welcome to the 2017 Annual Convoy & Meet Event

This event will be taking place on Sunday 28th May 2017 - with the main venue being Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year things are set to be even bigger and better than ever before with hopefully more cars (we now have a ceiling of 400 vehicles), more sponsors, more prizes to be won on the day, and our annual award of the 'JaguarForums.com Best Turned Out Jaguar' award up for grabs again!

The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services with a quick Welcome speech and your free Welcome Packs handed out.

Scratchshield.co.uk can help you keep your car scratch free for our event with a huge 25% discount using the checkout code ' JAGBRI16/17'

Plus, if you want to make a weekend of it, we have teamed up with HolidayInn Express in Crawley and have a fixed discounted rate of £54 a night for attendees, plus guaranteed availability of rooms for us :-) please see their details below, or follow this link HolidayInn Express Crawley. Just remember to quote that you are with the 'JaguarForums.com' event to get guaranteed availability and the fixed discounted rate of £54 a night.

If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in. If you prefer, you are also very welcome to sign up by dropping a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk :-)

Just so you know the latest regarding our next event:

I know there were concerns regarding footfall for our event, now that it has moved to Denbies Wine Estate. So I have been busy working on raising our profile with the Dorking press and local businesses.

I have already seen a start of local interest in our event, and will keep plugging away at it to see if we can really raise our profile at our new venue and guarantee visitors on the day for our event.

As for our 'working' breakfast for the day a couple of possibles I had, have proven to not match our needs.. I have a couple of possibles left, and will let you know the outcome.

Our Twitter following has been steadily increasing which helps us with our event advertising, plus we are starting to develop working relationships with other big events which helps with word of mouth and cross advertising to gain attendees..

There is still a long way to go until the day but we already have a lot of things starting to come into place - all of which are needed if we are going to be able to reach our new increased size.

As always please keep an eye on our events' forum threads, facebook posts, and Tweets for the latest as we go.

Meanwhile please don't forget I am taking family time off for the first and last weeks of August so I won't be available those weeks.

Additionally I am looking to sell my 2.5 X-Type in the next few weeks, becoming a full time X308 driver rather than an X-Type/XJ driver :-) Will miss the X-Types gorgeous exhaust tone but am hanging on to my gorgeous luxury cruiser, the XJ :-)

Just a very quick progress update for you so you know how we are doing:

We currently have 170 Twitter followers, 39 Facebook friends, 9 official sponsors, an event accomodation partner, 2 advertising partners and our forum threads have now received over 4000 hits :-)

We have a superb venue, a huge event capacity compared to our previous events and I am looking at a number of possible celebrities in the Jaguar world I am trying to encourage to get involved, along with sponsors, and of course as many years of Jaguar production as I can locate for this bigger and better event for us.

Not too bad thankyou :-) Have been busy trying to track down new event sponsors, and raise awareness of our event at it's new venue.. it's a work in progress, but steadily getting there - just keep plugging away at things :-)

Next week we have a week of days out with the kids, and then the last week of August the XJ is going on a roadtrip to Northumberland for a week, which is going to be great.

Meanwhile, I am very happy to add you guys in for our next event :-) it's going to be a biggie :-)
