Hi All, I am going to try to compile all the recent information on here into a useable format in the next few days (maybe weeks lol) such that wherever you are in the country you can find recommended links for what your cat needs. I'll do the same with this as when I run threads for meets etc with the latest post always containing the most upto date listing. It would be great if anyone who has good service, and/or great pricing could post the info up on here and I'll add it into the compilation..

Below you will find the current list of recommended suppliers, as recommended by you! Entries are listed by location (alphabetically) I guess if we get enough I can start to list them by county if you find that better to work from. Each entry has the alias of who recommended it and when - it may be worth contacting them to see if they still recommend the supplier, before going with the supplier. Obviously the newer a recommendation, the more current it is and likely to be accurate! If there is a demand for it I can likely list phone numbers or web addresses against entries..

Called out to see Dougie & Ian at Prestige today, a few issues to check with my car
.

New premises are looking great, stowed out with work, more than they can shake a stick at.
6 lifts now and some new personnel.....All good!

Default Hunter 4 wheel alignment specialist Glasgow

I've had various issues with my car for some time, some looseness from the rear end at speed, a wheel wobble and a wandering across the road, the steering bot quite as precise as it should be, all was not well.

Today I decided to be more proactive ahead of my visit back to Prestige Jaguar for another few minor issues to look at and visited a company fairly local to me, luckily enough.

The company is Premier Tyres in Hamilton 01698 424478 and I spoke with Keiran and Callum, 2 very friendly and helpful guys who really seem to know their onions.
The equipment used?

Hunter GSP9700 A 4 wheel alignment, laser guided, pressure testing, rim runout, balancing all singing all dancing machine.
So much more than a standard wheel balance and alignment!

The issues before......

1. A wheel judder when braking, more than likely discs or bearings I guess but we'll see how it may or may not affect this.
2. A slight wander, pulling to one side
3. A vague feeling from the rear, very loose at high speeds.

I'd had enough and it was time to get this resolved.....

See more and for details here...https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...acking-137776/

I'm not saying a word. Least said - soonest mended as my grandmother used to say.

I'm from the East Midlands and wanted to recommend this Jaguar specialist garage:

Nottingham JagTech
2 Little Tennis Street, Colwick, Nottingham NG2 4EN

I've had bits and bobs done from them including brake calipar repainting, alloy wheel repair and a battery change. Including getting lots of general advice on issues that I have had. I've found them really helpful and unlike some garages who simply don't care, these guys actually look like they care.

Great option if you can't go to the main dealer too.

Default Any recommendations in the Cambridge area?

Great thread Jim & Steve.. Does anyone have recommendations (or warnings!) for the Cambridge area? I'm looking into Nene Jag Specialists (Peterborough), Jagutek (Ely) and Roach Classics (Sudbury) but would welcome any advice... For a service / post-purchase check on a 2002 XKR.

Thanks

Guy,

If you don't get any recommendations for your immediate area, it's always worth considering traveling to get your Jaguar to a recognised specialist. As an example, when my XK requires a transmission service, I'll be doing the 160 miles from Durham to Mackie Transmissions in Glasgow simply because they are the experts.

One of the World's best Jaguar independents is David Marks Garages in Nottingham, around 90 miles from Cambridge ........

Graham

Thanks Graham, I've booked in for a post-purchase service/overview check with Nene Jag Specialists and will report back on my experience. I may well take your advice re David Marks for anything more complex... but hope to have a positive experience at Nene.

Thanks Jim

By the way, I noticed the mod list to your Audi in your signature... have you thought about LED installation in your Jag? I'm trying to compile a list of compatible bulbs...
(sorry if that's drifting off-topic - I can post somewhere else if you prefer?)
