5 or 6 of us attended the Blackhawk show last year. It was fun but I think it was that show that helped me I realized I enjoy attending car shows more than I enjoy participating in them. If the group (or a group) is going this year, I imagine we could be persuaded to come hang out but I'm not interested in entering again.

I wasn't planning to be a participant. I was suggesting a get together. I know my car is not show worthy.

Just curious, was there a specific aspect of participating that you didn't enjoy?
Appears to be a long day, several hours. Was that part of it?
Too many questions or requests to "sit in the car?"
Just wondering as I was thinking of entering just for fun, but if it's not fun, then why bother....
Thanks,
tnt10

Sorry, my post was poorly worded. I had a great time at that show. What I realized (about myself) had nothing to do with the event itself, which was lovely (if long and hot), but with the recognition that what I enjoyed most was the company of my fellow BAJrs as we walked around and enjoyed other people's cars. I found talking about my own car somewhat less interesting and the attention it attracted (such as it was) not really worth the effort of getting the car ready for the show. The few folks who did show an interest in my car were very nice and if I enjoyed that aspect more, I'd want to show my car again and again. But what I personally got out of the event, I could have got just by attending rather than participating.

I would absolutely consider attending the next one if other BAJrs are going but I don't think I need to enter the show to have a good time. That's just me. It would be a pretty dull show if everyone agreed with me. :-)

Jill and I have to be in. I guess we will win the prize for travelling the furthest! Not certain about the night before or after. I will check with Jill. Best restaurant in St. Helena is Archetype. It is absolutely awesome and fairly priced. Reservations are a must.

I have never been on a drive although I have seen many pass me by. BobRoy was very helpful in getting me this information. Even though I am not from the area, my profile picture shows the car in front of V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena. Count me in for two of us...one car.

I may have 2 to 4 non-forum Jag lovers (and 2 cars) to join us. Okay?
