Hey Marco,

I don't know of any indy Jaguar specialist shops in the area. I get all the servicing I can't do myself at Rahal Jaguar. Even though they are a dealership, they are quite fair with pricing and excellent with service. Perhaps reconsider.....

But anyway, I drive past this place a good bit and it's always packed with cars, indicating they are either trusted and stay busy with work, or they never fix anything - so it might be a good option for you: Import Motorcar Service - Pittsburgh, PA - Motorcar Service - Home

7847 Perry Highway
Pittsburgh, PA 15237
suewag1@yahoo.com
Fax: (412) 364-0347

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Closed Saturday and Sunday

I'm not sure where in the Burgh you are so this might be a trek for you. It's not far off of 279 North or the McKnight Road corridor though. I'm in the N. Hills in Pine Twp.

Best of luck, and if you do try these guys out, let us know how it goes please!

-Chris

I had some work done at a specialty shop in Bridgeville a while back and they did good work. I will have to try to find the name again.

Do any of you guys do your own work? I would love to team up with a few guys to work on our cars. I know enough to be dangerous but if I had 2 minds I know I could tackle anything on these cars!

Thanks

Hey Brettl - I do a good bit of my own work on my vehicles and have a pretty decent collection of tools. I'm by no means a certified mechanic but I have a good amount of experience behind a wrench. Enough to know some real good curse words anyway .

I do have a 2 bay garage and large driveway, so if you wanted to meet up to do some wrenching sometime I'd try to make myself and my place available. All depends on what you're needing to do. A little body work, brakes, general suspension, belts/hoses, etc or stuff like that would be no sweat. You want to rebuild your transmission or something major, well I'm not your guy to lead the job but I don't mind getting greasy lending a hand.

Default My 2 cents

Hey all,

Fellow Pittsburgh-er here and new Jag owner as well! I've had very good luck with the guys at Transmissions by Lucille. It's a small shop, and rather down-homey (though I'd call that a good thing) but they know their business and have been beyond fair in my dealings with them.

I've also heard good things about a place in the South Hills called Foreign Fix: . Have not been there myself as they are pretty out of the way for me (I'm over in Swissvale).

Another decent place for both body work and general maintenance is Penn Automotive in Homestead. They've got a big operation going there and, as such, are usually pretty busy so it can be tough to get an appointment. They've done a good job for me though (had some body work done to my Honda and have gotten several oil changes, including the Jag).

I hope this helps!

BTW, @The Chris X, you're opening a big can of worms there man! I know I'd not mind some basic help at times, I'm pretty new to the shade tree mechanic bit. I have a buddy who knows a lot but he's in Kittaning, so not exactly a quick trip for me.

Justin
