Another (northwestern) New Jersey member checking in! I have two Jags--a 2003 S-Type and a 1995 XJS Convertible--both in British Racing Green!

Default My 2004 X-Type

I bought my BRG/Champaign 2004 Jaguar X-type 2.5 about a year ago now from Masachusetts, and brought her to my home in Delaware. I bought her with 15,000 miles for $13,000. She is equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission, and was totally stock. Now, she is just about to get to 25,000 miles, and is not stock any more. Upgrades include SLR performance chip, K&N Air filter, Mina exhaust, michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, and Sport Edition 18" wheels. I also enhanced her look w/ the mesh grille, chrome headlight and tailight trim, and a nice chrome strip on the door panel. You can see me and my car, and one of my dads 17 cars, at Del Rods car show every other saturday at the Greentree shopping center in Delaware. I would LOVE to get together with fellow Jaguar owners around the area!

I hope so! My first Audi was a 2004 A8L(model change) and it was a disaster. Little support from either Audi or dealer. Hopefully, Jag is a "different breed"!

Well, I love jaguar. So far from what I can tell, support is very good, service is good too, just can be expensive, but it always will be expensive when you are looking at cars like those. You should love that jag. I would LOVE to have one, Especially a portfolio!!! but I still have college to finish, and all that good stuff, so I still have alot to go... and by that time, who knows what will be out.

Default Hi all

Hi all,

New Jag owner from Carteret NJ here. Just purchased a used Ebony/Charcoal 06 X-Type 3.0 AWD with 24115 miles on the odo.... This is my first Jag, but I've always liked the styling especially on the classic early models.

Nice to meet everyone.

Bought my '05 XK8 convertible new in December '04. Has been running great (40K miles so far), a great grand tourer! Out of the Morristown / Summit area.

Hi all, just recently moved to Weymouth Massachusetts. I picked up my '04X (3L, blue tan interior) in March with 76k miles for $8450. Couple door dings, scratches and bent wheels but other than that it was in great shape. Couldn't believe I got such a good deal.
Then the driveshaft went. And two wheel bearings. And now it's throwing engine codes and running like crap - sometimes bucking hard around 2500-2600 rpm and refuses to accelerate. Piece of ice fell off an overpass and broke my windshield. And I bent my rear knuckle axle carrier - driving around on the spare because the tire was rubbing on the piece because it's bent so bad. :-/ Other than all that I love my car! LOL Looking forward to upgrading the suspension and getting some new wheels later this year.

2004x-type, what did you think of that chip? Any noticeable performance gains? Where did you order it?
