Default Parking Assist Panel?

Ok... the plastic panel below the rear bumper that houses the assist sensors. Mine has faded to almost white in the Florida sun. I have a black car and want to remove the panel and paint it black.
How should I mask the sensors? Should I just use regular masking tape and be careful not too get paint on the sensors, or remove the sensors first?
If B, any guidance on how to remove/take apart the panel?
Thanks...

Howdy,
I fitted 3rd party parking system to my rear bumper a while back which allowed me to
locate the visual/audio indicator panel - up front in the dash area. (its great)

The associated sensors (x4) came in black plastic - but are paintable.
So, mine are now painted to match colour of the rear bumper.

I would think that yours too would be paintable - without any effects ?
Hope this helps

They are paintable up to a limit. If they are still black I would mask them and not put any more paint on them. The connectors are very fragile and easilly broken, I will leave it up to you wether you want to mask or remove them.

flyrr100, remove the sensors. Removing the first one is the hardest. But, once you figure out what is going on, the rest are easy to remove. You can probably paint the plastic rings around the sensors, but do not paint the sensors. LIke was mentioned, it will be easy to apply too much paint and therefore make it so the sensors do not work.

I removed the sensors out of my piece and color matched it like you are looking to do. There are 2 clips on the back side that you will need to hold back as you use your thumb to push the sensor back into the bumper. DO NOT!!!!!!!! twist the sensor attempting to break it loose. It will break loose, right in the middle of the sensor, trashing the sensor. Don't ask how I know. Use your thumb and give a good push. It will pop out.
