I note from your previous posts that you have a petrol engine, so it would be interesting to hear what symptoms you now have that make you think you need to clean the EGR because to the best of my knowledge, no petrol X Type has ever been fitted with one. Which is just as well, as the diesel versions are plagued with EGR problems!

If you list your symptoms here, between us we should be able to offer you some help.

I recall reading that the advanced VVT in the AJ25 and AJ30 makes having an EGR valve unnecessary, or something like that. Good thing really, considering how much people have issues with them.

All 4.2 XK8 and XKRs have both VVT and an EGR. The earlier 4.0 engine also has VVT but an EGR was only fitted for some (Unknown to me!) markets.

The need for EGRs seem to be a (literally!) black art
