The test for a fuel pump is definetly not spraying something in the intake.
Check if there is flow, and also check pressure.
Maybe something as simple as a broken fuse or wire, the roll over switch is tripped,
maybe, the computer has decided not to fire the injectors?
Fuel pump is expensive and a big job ot replace.
do some logical trouble shooting my man...

while all possible causes, if you worked on these all day, you would not complicate the diagnosis with things that are extremely unlikely considering the pumps go so frequently, and spraying the intake while doesnt condem the fuel pump per sey, it does tell you the engine has fire and capable of running if you add the missing component...in this case fuel....i have 2 wanting for new pumps right now(backordered) but hey, if you want to spend the time to be sure of where you started................no problem here
