Default 2003 X-Type Fuse Box Diagram FAQ

Hi Everyone,

My 2003 X-Type was recently boosted when the battery died. Since then, the radio doesn't work. There doesn't seem to be any power going to it. I referred to the owner's manual, it only tells me about the security code, which displays CODE when it is required. Right now, there is nothing on the display, no lights turn on, and of course there is no music.

My first thought was check the fuse box. But of course the last owner must have taken off the cover and not replaced it. Now I do not have the fuse diagram, it isn't in the manual either. Does anyone know where I can get one, or even a picture of one?

I appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks a lot for checking this out.

Justin

Looks like this is the problem I'm having, but it's a bad link.

where is the Passenger compartment fuse box ????

The only thing I found was some kind of module with lots of plugs. There is nothing in or behind the glove box. I located the one under the hood and in the interior on the driver side.

any clues?

Thanks!

Luis, keep in mind that there are 2 different versions of our cars, the left hand drive and right hand drive cars. IN the US, we have left hand drive vehicles. The British have right hand drive cars. Because the JTIS was more than likely written in Great Britan, where the fuse box is inside of our cars (driver's side), it would be their passenger side.

Good info,
Thermo
I own an X type 3.0 and all is ok at the moment after I have put 7, 000 miles in it since I got it in January this year.

My question is that my jag has new brake rotors and brake pads, and all new tires but my steering wheel goes slighly to the right when i use my brakes suddenly, I want to add that the car does not go to the right while this is happening only the steering wheel moves and is not always.

RF69, if the wheels are not moving, but the steering wheel is, then you have a loose joint somewhere in your steering system. I guess the other question that I have is whether it is simply a very light push that the steering wheel gives or if it is more forceful than that. I can't say that I have heard of a steering wheel pushing like you are talking about. What you are describing is almost like the power steering box is working too hard and fighting you and when you apply the brakes, the load is taken off of the steering box and is then transferred to the steering wheel. As much as I hate to say to take it to a shop, this sounds like something that a shop will need to look at.

Thermo,
yes the wheels are moving as well as the steering wheel, for example, using the brakes suddenly to stop at a red traffic light and yes, it is simply a very light push that the steering wheel gives to my right, all that only happens when I use my brakes suddenly especially if it has been raining

Lux, look next to the battery, you will see a small covered box (about 12cm x 18 cm). That is the fuse box for the majority of the car. There is a 2nd fuse box inside the passenger area. It is on the left side of the car, near the door jam.

If you need more information, let me know.

Zienek, welcome to the forums. You will find a lot of good information here. If you don't see what you are after, ask (like you are). Send me your e-mail address and I will send you the fuse box diagram so you can have that.

Thermo,

I will surely send you my e-mail address, unfortunately I have to wait undefined period until
undisclosed "qualifying period" will be closed.

Thermo, could you elucidate how long I should buy into the grace to get full user permissions?

Thank you in advance.

Despite this limitation I will show you my fusebox.
Click the image to open in full size.

I would be glad if you could deliver me listing with fuses.
I assume that it is different that in older X-type (or other engine version).

Zienek, once you hit 10 posts, you should be unlocked and have full use of the boards. If you don't want to wait that long, send me an e-mail to thermomonkey "at" yahoo.com. From there I will be able to get you all the info that you need.
