I have a 2004 Jaguar X Type 3.0. It has 99876 miles on it. I was driving today on the highway at about 65 mph and the transmission went out of overdrive and the engine light came on orange. The computer said "gearbox fault". I looked in the manual and it just said the transmission will shift iradictly. ok, so I guess it went into "limp home mode" I drove it at around 35mph and got home. It stayed in what I think 2nd or 3rd gear the whole way. Half way home, all the gadges went out and all the lights on the dash came on. I made it home, but, what the hell happened? Is there a secret button to push or am I stuck having to tow it to Jaguar for repairs?
