Default Clunky, Metallic Noise Behind Tire

Hello everyone!
I've been trying to figure out a part name. It is behind the tire. It either broke or came lose. Since it is broken or loose, it hits the car, which causes the clunky noise. It is a wide and dark metal piece; it has a small, risen groove in the middle and seems to have been attached by nail(s). Right behind this piece are two visible cables. We went to a local auto parts place and the guy told us it could be a control arm, but this piece does not look like it.

I am referring to the black piece at the bottom of the picture.

If you are talking about that big black thing in the picture it's a trailing arm. Maybe you could take a picture of the part you think it came loose form, maybe it's just a bush.
