Code: P0353

Code: P0353
Guru's, I've read two Shop Manuals and for whatever reason the info left me wondering if I was missing something.
One Manual says: P0351/P0353/P0355 is a failure of coils 1A, 2A, or 3A and then lists P0352/P0354/P0356 as failure of coils 1B, 2B, or 3B.
In an attempt to put 2 and 2 together I suspect the last digit is indicative of cylinder. But what is the "A" and "B" mean? And is it possible to get one of these codes and have to replace all 3 coils?
Second Manual says: quite frankly, P0353 is a failure of #3 coil. That seemed entirely too straightforward.
Can someone confirm 0353 is #3 cylinder Ignition Coil Failure?
Can someone chime in on what the order is as well? 1,3,5 is firewall and 2,4,6 is radiator?
GO HAWKS!

Extract from the Workshop manual on cylinder numbering:
(click on the image to enlarge it)
The relevant section is "..... correct cylinder numbering is, when viewed from the rear of the engine, the right-hand cylinder bank is numbered 5,3,1 and the left-hand cylinder bank is numbered 6,4,2."
Jaguar have a confusing way of referring to cylinders on all models and at times documentation switches between using LH or RH and A or B bank.
According to the Jaguar DTC listing, P0353 is Ignition module primary circuit
malfunction on cylinder 3.

ugotmale, please note that in the pic that GGG posted, it uses a slightly different point of reference than what we normally use here. His has you standing by the driver's wheel (for you, or by the battery) and then looking at the engine that way. Normally I would tell you to stand by the passenger wheel (for you, or near the washer bottle fill) and then look at the engine that way.
When standing at the passenger tire (for you), the odd numbered cylinders are on your left with 1 nearest you and 5 furthest away that are also hidden under the intake by the firewall and the even numbered cylinders have 2 closest to you and 6 furtherest away with these hidden under the air box and close to the radiator.
Use the reference point that makes the most sense to you.
As for the code, your P0353 is referring to cylinder number 3. Keep it simple. I think the A and B numbering is referring more to a cylinder on a side of an engine away from a reference point. For example, cylinder 3B would be on the B side of the engine (aka, Bank 2, or the radiator side of the engine) and would be the 3rd cylinder from the reference point (assuming that the reference point is the front of the engine which would be near your passenger wheel). It is all in how the engineer that come up with the referencing decided to number things. Lots of ways to number the engine.

Yea, that would've been convenient! Probably would've learned a few things too. Unfortunately my car has very bad timing. It'll be nice when it feels pampered enough to let me go more than a few weeks without tweaking out. It's like a domino effect, once one thing goes something else follows!

Update
Just to update anyone eying this thread. I haven't had the P0353 code since I originally posted this. The weather warmed up around here quite a bit too and could be a factor. So for now it's a wait and see. Now that I've posted this, either it will come back or something else will go wrong.
