Default Fault codes!

Hey guys... So in order to get my vehicle to pass inspection, I need to get the abs light and the CEL out... I had the codes read and he couldn't tell me exactly what it was just the numbers... The two that showed up were C1175 and the other was P1000

My question is what are these? Ive read a bunch of posts, and you guys seem like you REALLY know a lot about Jaguars! Thank you in advance!

02silver, the code is telling me that the computer sees an issue with the driver's side rear wheel speed sensor. I would start off with pulling the rear wheel and seeing if the wiring is damaged. After that, remove the wheel speed sensor and look down the hole to see if you spot a gear inside the hole. If you don't see a gear in there, then most likely your reluctance ring has bitten the dust (common problem with our cars). Odds are, this will require a new CV shaft unless you can find the reluctance ring and then pull out the CV shaft to install a new ring.

If you can see the ring inside the hole, then most likely you have a bad sensor. You may want to try swapping it with the other rear sensor and seeing if the problem moves to the other rear wheel (will get a C1165 code instead of the C1175 code). then you can get a new sensor at that point and be fine.

The P1000 code will clear once you resolve the problem causing the C1175 code as the P1000 code is simply saying that there is either a problem or the car has not been driven far enough to have all the checks completed.

Apart from reluctor ring & sensor , check for breaks in the connecting wiring loom . I had ABS probs with my first X type & the fault was a break in the loom .Just a thought .
