Help, please.

2002 xtype 3.0 AWD 138,000 mi

When put in D, Dash reads Gearbox fault, then, cruise not available.

yellow light on speedo and motor icon on tach.

Moves ok in Rev.

Feels like the brakes are on.

First thing you should do is have the fault codes read, any parts store will do this for you for free. Post the codes and we can point you in the right direction.

Second thing to check is tranny fluid level not so easy on our cars but can be done check out the posts on refilling transmission fluid.

Transmasters advised driving may increase damage.
Fluid is turning brown.
Feels like rear wheels are moving the car while front wheels are dragging.
I "may?" have a Masda trans.
Will try fluid & filter change.
Cannot see level ckeck plug due to a heavy metal guard bolted to trans.
My trans looks diff than photos I have seen so far.
