Default High beam/Low beam bulb##

Im wondering because in my guide it does not have the bulb number. Im guessing they are h1. So is the high beam bulb the same bulb that goes in the low beam?? The reason i ask is i ordered a set of the low beams from JaguarXP, and they sent me 2sets/4bulbs. Is there a seperate bulb for the high beams??

Why is it that the brights are so bright if they are the same bulb? Is it because of the halogen bulb? I thought that the bulbs were 50 watts or whatever and not like 50/100? I've officially confused myself

What I was trying to say without confusing you guys and myself was why is it that he bright is so much brighter than the dims. Is it because of the projector lens projecting the light differently? I figured that sense the h1 is really a fog light bulb I don't know how it could possibly shine so brightly! I've never actually opened the brights to see what kind of bulb resides in there if in-fact it is a h1 bulb.

Hey there aquill, the brights / fog lights are also H1's. I replaced mine all round a little while ago and intend to do the same shortly with "uprated bulbs" cos when I go out at night I like to see where I am going. I am going with "sportzblue" 80w/100w so hopefully there will be some difference.
Re - why the brights are brighter ( being the same bulb) - I think you're right, must just be that its projected differently!
Quite handy though re the bulbs being H1's all round, nice an easy to keep spares of one type of bulb, not 2 or 3 different types!

Yeah I know the fogs and dims are h1's I just figured that since the brights are so bright that the brights were different bulbs. I've replaced my headlights and foglights thus far but haven't replaced the brights (which I don't plan on it!) The only thing I want to do is get some xenon headlamps up in there!

No, but it would make it easier if you have big hands...

Hi Andersen,
you don't have to remove the battery. I am lucky though. I had an auto electrician do mine ( all of them) for £20.....just beer money really and well worth it. Took him quite some time and jeeez his hands were cut / scraped / bruised...lol..and they were quite small at that.
I woulda thought though that it woulda been easier if not longer to remove the battery but there ya go.

Cheers

Hey there look at the picture of me on my post I started about rims. Thats me and how big I am. I have decent sized hands and I deliver building materials so even if I was small the swelling that happens to my hands after delivering materials all day means my hands are pretty big. I've had to change my headlights (dims) very many times because I made the mistake of putting sylvania silverstar bulbs in the car. I can now change these headlights with my eyes closed-no joke either! No you don't have to move anything the drivers side is way easier than the passenger side though! The passenger side would be sooo much easier if it didn't have all of the hard lines for the cars heating/cooling! They are tricky but once you've done it a couple of times it gets very easy! You will scrape, cut and possibly bruise yourself though!

Maybe its me but Ive changed the passenger side bulb a few times and its not that difficult theres just not musch room to manuver, but the drivers side looks really cramped because the battery is right behind it and blocking the bulb area...

I appreciate your answers and if I need to change the drivers side Ill know who to ask for future advise...

I thinkI will but am still waiting to hear from the maker themselves in the US regarding shipping.Even though I upgraded the bulbs to the 60% brighter ones from Halfords they are still s*it.The other night it was wet and driving through a golf club estate trying to find a hotel for my wifes Xmas party and the only reason I knew my lights were on was because the dash was lit up.I have got to upgrade and the sooner the better!

Was just seeing if it was any cheaper to buy directly from the manufacturer? in the US rather than paying a middleman on ebay as well.It seems to me that the seller on ebay might be buying a few of these and then selling them on,I think.
