Check Valve Found for TC Fluid Change!
I think I may have found it!

This unit would screw into a 1/2" to 1/4" reducer (which I already found at Lowe's & Home Depot) which would screw into the TC. Since it's male threaded on both ends, it would allow a hose to slip on. The valve unit has a hex in the middle, so if the hex on the 1/2 to 1/4 reducer has to be ground down for clearance you can use the hex on the check valve to wrench into the TC. Once hose is removed I would put a 1/4" cap on the valve "just in case."
Best yet, the check valve is only $6.02!

Outstanding find, Rob! This looks very promising. It should fit neatly into a 1/2" male to 1/4" female reducer like this: http://flowsolutions1.com/images/PA1112.jpg, and the finished assembly should require very little horizontal clearance. Once the fluid's been changed, you should be able to put a 1/4" cap like this http://2.imimg.com/data2/PA/HX/MY-/26-250x250.jpg on the end of the valve as an added precaution against leaks.
I think the biggest challenge will be screwing the 1/2" to 1/4" reducer into the transfer case, since the hex head might not provide sufficient clearance. But that should be surmountable by finding a reducer with a narrow hex head, and/or grinding down the hex portion until you have enough clearance. The only other potential challenge we might run into is the cracking pressure (the amount of pressure required to open the valve and let fluid flow through). At 1.5 psi, this valve has a higher cracking pressure than the one Wild Bill used...as I recall, his was around 0.125 psi. I guess we won't know if a hand pump has sufficient pressure to crack open the valve until we try it.
Dammit, this just might work! I'm excited! Excellent find - at $6, it's definitely worth a shot. I'm going to order one (or a couple) and play around with it.

I sent Wild Bill a pm a couple months ago and he contacted me yesterday. He has two TC fill/drain kits ready to sell and I bought one of them from him today (mailed out a check to him this afternoon).
However, over this past weekend, I bought the check valve (http://www.mcmaster.com/#8529t12/=a2c5ob) found by Razkid in thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...251#post288251, post 44 but will likely not use it now. I plan to see how WildBill's kit works first but since this kit is the proven technology, it's the solution I'll likely implement. If I end up not using Razkid's valve (likely), I'd be willing to make someone a good deal on it.
I should have WildBill's kit sometime next week and, if the Dallas weather cooperates, I may have some experiences and pictures to share next weekend. I'll also post pictures of WildBill's kit and do a compairson between WildBill's check valve and Razkid's check valve. This should give us plenty of data to proceed on our own, if necessary.
