Sounds like it could be the little flap over the ignition key hole - some graphite powder or just a spot of WD40 should free it up. The fob won't work if the car 'thinks' there's a key in the ignition! (That flap operates a switch as the key is put in or taken out)

Yep, if the car dings when the door is open with your lights off and key out, you've got a bad flap just like me... I'll have to try the graphite powder, thanks armstrong

have looked at the flap, it seems ok. is there a posibility theres a fuse or something gone? where inside the car is the sensor for the remote locking?

hm... to me, the only thing that would explain it is if there are still keys in the ignition, or if your lights are on. Check fuses related to those two functions.

Default Key Fob

Hi, Mark. I have a similar situation. I replaced the battery. I programmed the fob and it worked fine for a few months. Now it only unlocks the driver's door and locks all of the doors. I am going to try the battery again and see if that works. Other than that, there is not much I think that can be done, because you have tried everything else. Good luck and keep us posted.

My fob would only unlock the drivers door until I cleaned the fob with a contact cleaner. The other fob would not work at all until cleaned.
