"Low Outside Temperature"

I live in Tucson az. and I got the "Low Outside Temp" message this morning, outside temp was 36F. I realized it was cold out but I looked at the dashboard and thought, There's nothing I can do about that. In and of itself, the message "cold outside temp" isn't reporting a problem with the car, merely a neutral observation. Is my car trying to engage me in small talk?????
If it is a warning of icy conditions, why wouldn't it say that? Also, 36F is above the freezing temp for Water, and in Tucson this morning, conditions were not icy at all. Very dry and cold in fact.
The car started fine, ran normal, no missing etc. In light of the message I let the car warm up a little longer than usual. I noticed that when the Outside Temp hit 45F, the message went away.

I also have a Cadillac which at least does say "ICE POSSIBLE"....thankfully, I turned off the voice of the lady telling me that and interrupting my sound system!
After having to shovel a path to your car, and then removing 10 inches of show and ice, I really don't feel it's all that necessary for the car to tell me it's freakin' FREEZING outside! My butt knew that already!!
I really do think it's stupid that the only way to see the outside temperature is to turn on the climate control. Even my kid's Subarus have that feature always displayed!

As useful as a warning to drive more carefuly lest you encounter an ice patch might be, I would have to agree that a "TC Fluid Warning" would be even better.
