Default No reverse after tranny fluid....HELP!!

Please tell me this can be fixed. Ill try to make this long story short. Took 02 X in to have the leaking oil pan gasket and cracking drive belt replaced. While there they drained tranny fluid and refilled. I remembered something on here about not removing hex bolt from the top, I tried to tell them but when I looked he had already done it. Now reverse doesn't work. I don't know what to do now. And neither does the mechanic apparently. I hope one of the techs is out there and can help.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I belive once that has been done, the transmission must be disassembled so the reverse band can be adjusted back to the correct position.

well, yes, it is messed up. The reverse band brake bolt was removed.

The trans shop I talked with has a tool that can reset this most of the time. It is a well known mistake and the really good trans shops can get you straightened out for a minimal charge. The rest will tell you you need a complete overhaul.

^yep.

Get the car to a tranny specialist, with this mechanic footing the bill of course.
