Squeaky Steering cured!
A lot of X type owners have cars with a squeak when turning the steering wheel especially when driving slowly. It required new bushes fitted into the power steering column or a new rack (£400) to sort.
However after Technical Bulletin JTB00055 was brought to my attention on the .co.uk forumshowinga simple potential cure which takes 20 mins to do.
It cost me £31.73 at the dealer to have it done but the power steering fluid additive is available by itself for around £3.50 from a dealer if you fancy doing it yourself.
I dont have a thermometer probe which is why I got the dealer to do it.
Good news is the squeaking has gone and the dealer reckons no one has come back to complain it hasnt worked however they cannot guarantee results.
Here is a downloadable ZIP file deatiling the TSB for those wanting to know more:-

Skeaky Steering
I had the dealership diagnose my squeaky (more like creaking) steering wheel. They told me it was a cassette cartridge that needs to be replaced in the steering column. Since the additive was only $88 USD, I tried that first since the cassette reel would be $300+ USD. The Lubricant additive did not solve my problem unfortunately and I'll be going back shortly to get that cassette cartridge replaced.
