Default Steering Wheel Center Emblem

Can any body tell me what this 45mm badge came off of, and where to find the correct growler in 45mm?

This is my airbag center cap. Again, it is 45mm, not 58mm!

The edges look like the normal badge, perhaps that's a sticker? No idea why anyone would do that, the original badge looks nicer, unless it has been damaged and that's there to cover it up.

See this thread for some more info on the badges:

Unfortunately, it is pretty much impossible to replace the badge itself. You might be able to put a new stick-on to replace the one you now have, though, if you find one in correct size. I'm only aware of this.

That is actually metallic plastic, and it is cloisonné, not a sticker.

The stock airbag centers look to be 58mm, but this thing is only 45mm in diameter.

It is almost as though the airbag is not an original Jag part...although that would not make a lot of sense.

In the long run, I'd like to put a later model wood and leather wheel in, but in the meantime, this thing just looks so cheesy...

My badge was damaged. We replaced the steering wheel with a late model one and installed a new air. Total cost less than $300 but this makes a huge improvement to the look of the car. The old airbags have an issue with curling up at the edges.

Yep, I have the curling edges.

We are going to put a later wood and leather wheel in, which will solve the problem.

I did find a supplier who makes the leaper badges in 45mm with a carbon fiber or silver background, and also found a UK vendor who makes domes growler stick-ons as well.

They don't advertise them as being for the steering wheels, but a check of the design (and many other car manufacturers) shows that MANY suppliers use adhesive badges, rather than tabbed badges, on their air bags.

The bag cover opens UP, away from the driver, and fast enough that if the badge were to separate from the cover, it would hit the ceiling, not the driver, so the assumed safety issue is actually a non-issue.

Actually, the CF look center is not too bad looking:
