ok. battery checked and re-installed. still nothing. no power at all. no dome lights, no instrument cluster lights, nothing. what is responsible for sending power to the various systems?
UPDATE: I found the inertia switch and reset it; I also removed the shift lever cover and released the solenoid so at least I got it out of park and its in neutral now. There is still absolutely no power to any of the systems. Nothing happens when I put the key into the ignition and no lights come on when I open the doors. Battery is only two months old and has checked out fine. Cant figure out what fuse or relay is responsible for power going to the various systems.
does anyone have any idea what I might check for?

The main busbar in the Engine Compartment fuse box is direct and unfused, so there should be power there - assuming not only the positive cable is properly connected at each end (battery and fuse box) but also the ground cable (battery and body).
The passenger fuse box busbar is powered directly from the the engine compartment fuse box via a 150A megafuse. If that has blown it would certainly kill a lot of systems! But it would be unusual to blow without a (probably?) noticeable event?
That megafuse is awkwardly placed on the underside of the engine compartment fuse box, so you'll have to lift the box to get at it.
If that fuse has gone, it would be worth trying to locate the cause before just replacing it and blowing it again!
