Swapping seats from different year models?
Hello everyone, I was lucky enough to purchase a 2007 X-Type 3.0 L a few weeks ago at a very cheap price, the trade-off being that the previous owner did not take very good care of the seats or interior. I am having the interior redone, but in the interest of saving money I came across a set of seats from a 2003 X-Type at a very good price. My question is, would these seats work if I swapped them into my 2007 model? The seats in there now are the base electric seats, the ones I am looking at are electric and heated. I am willing to have the seats reupholstered as I am having the entire interior customized anyway, but this would save me about $500 if it works, and I would get the upgrade to have heated seats. Any advice would be helpful!

james, if you need the wiring diagrams, let me know. I can help you out there. But, from the sounds of things, you have most of it figured out. The 07 plugs will need to be cut off (atleast the pins pulled out of the plug casing) to be put into the 03 casings. Then you will have to add in some wiring for powering the heated seats. Granted, if the heated seats are not that big of a deal for you, I would just skip the heated seats and keep things simple.
