Default Various trouble codes, need advise from techs

Hello I have a 02 X-type 2.5 auto, I went to get it scanned for a abs and cel, it came back with about 20 codes. The car starts up rough when it is cold but once it warms up it runs perfectly normal. Here are pics of the lists of codes. Any advice would be highly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Wow, a lot of codes. I can tell you the P0301, 02, 04, 06 are either bad plugs and the cylinders are misfiring or you may need to replace the coils. If I recall (double check here) the 02, 04, 06 are the cylinders on the firewall side with 2 being left rear looking into the engine bay from the front (assuming yours is a US model with the steering wheel on the left side vs right). 301 is front left. Again double check that on this forum. It's posted.

Replace the plugs first with NGK Iridiums gaped at about .052 then see what you get. You might want to replace the coils too since you'll have the manifold off to get to the back plugs. Chances are your 300 codes are due to plugs though. If you take the manifold off to do the rear plugs (firewall) you want to make sure to get replacement upper plenum gaskets. Once you take the manifold off you see the gaskets to be replaced. They are 6 oval/circular type gaskets. The P1316 code is likely a result of your P0301, 02, 04, and 06 codes. It just means the system is sensing multiple misfires across more than one cylinder. Knock sensors are the black **** or sensors on the top of each valve cover, again on the left side. They're pretty easy to replace.

As for you other codes.........you'll need some advice from others on those, but at least this is a start for you.

They are cheap. If you go to autozone ask for upper and lower intake gaskets for a 2003 Lincoln ls 3.0. These are the same gaskets and about 80 bucks cheaper then jaguar. the lower ones are just under the injectors. 4 bolts holding down the lower black plastic intake. 2 on each side. the rail and injectors will come up with the lower intake. Also I would replace the imt valve O-rings as long as you have the intake off (those are the black round things on the right side of the intake...Passenger side) can pick them up cheap on line or at jaguar for about 15 bucks each.

Good Luck,
The Dr!

I'm not too sure there is much you can do besides getting some paper shop towels and clean out all the oil in the cylinders. I've read on here that it's not uncommon for oil to seep into the plug cylinders causing poor performance and misfires, but it should be a slow leak. Wipe them out and it should alleviate the issue. The gaskets on a 2.5 should be the same as a 3.0.

Default codes

You can use a shop towel and wrap it around a screwdriver to get the oil out. Then remove the plugs and wipe them off. You can replace the valve cover gasket. Remember there are 2 gaskets per valve cover. The inner and outer. Just make sure to clean out the old one really well. It's not a hard job. Just time consuming. And yes the 2.5 and 3.0 use all the same stuff.

Good luck,
The Dr!
