Default 2003 Jaguar X-Type Misfire on 'cold' start

U2509-Torque request cannot be fulfilled by the engine management system

P0420-Catalyst system efficiancy below threshold (bank 1)

P1582-Flight recorder data no stored <Jaguar said only they can remove this one>

P1000-System check not completed since last memory clear

P1796-CAN controller circuit malfunction (buss off) <transmission control module 4th gear>

U1900-CAN communications bus fault <ABS code, short to ground // DSC module>???

B2627-Fuel gauge sender circuit - open 2

U2511-CAN data mis-match (receive data does not match expected)

U2510-CAN invalid data for vehicle security

P1796-CAN controller circuit malfunction (buss off)

(probably unrelated):

B1676-battery voltage out of range

B2496- Anti-theft horn circuit - short to ground

B2621-Rear axle level sensor signal - not plausible

B1218-Battery voltage low

(left out these climate control related ones: B2308,B1262,B1263,B1239,B1242)

2003 Jaguar X-Type 2.5L

on cold start, the engine is having multiple cylinder misfires (all but one cylinder throwing a code. the brake booster does not seem to work at low RPM (while engine cold). when the engine warms up it runs much smoother but there are times are acceleration (not WOT or hard throttle, but more than granny speed) the engine(car) will jerk back and forth.

i have sprayed Brake-Clean all around the engine and can't find any leaks (at cold start)

This is what a local shop gave me:
1. Compos. $270
2. Coils $270
3. Plugs $129.95
4. (i can't really read this one) Clrp? or CUP - $152
5. intake gasket $180(not including parts)
6. injectors ($1,120 part)

they want to try the gasket first, but wanted see what other people thought. have never used any type of Forum in my life before so be nice.

Before you spend any money, you should make sure your battery is healthy and providing the required voltage and the cables are sound. Low battery conditions can cause numerous problems. A very good description of how to check it is provided by 'Thermo' in this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-codes-88863/

Java, check your batter first. Too many random things to be a single failure unless it is the battery. Even if the battery is "OK" (ie, not great), replace the battery and then see what you have. Even a moderate battery can lead to problems with our cars.
