I've tried to find out what are the different veneer options for the X-Type (hunting a pre-facelift half-wood half-black wheel). Mine is Bird's Eye Maple:


I found an early X-Type brochure here, and it only mentions Bird's Eye Maple (normal + grey for sport). The wheels I've seen for sale have all been "walnut", though the stain is rather similar aside from slight colour difference (ambient light, white balance, flash, photo processing, etc...).

Anyone know more?
